Hey guys and girls, sorry if this is going up a little later than usual, but as some of you may know, I’ve been busy working on another project that kind of needed to be finished by the end of October as well as various issues involving my workplace and fire.  Anyways, welcome to my first impressions of the almost two month old Fall 2012 anime season.  There’s a lot of rare illnesses, cute characters, and dark, serious storylines going around this season, so quite the variety to get through.  So with that in mind, let’s just get started.

To celebrate the wonder (and harbinger of horror) that is Labor Day (and because Litrid has been bitching about a lack of non-convention videos lately), we bring you FOUR VIDEOS today, including a NEW SHOW. Let's break it down -

First up is a new Co-Op CHAOS. TX and I are both hardcore Kamen Rider fans, so what better game for us to play than the original sidescrolling Kamen Rider game for the Super Nintendo? Kick over here to watch this video.

Secondly, the last of our videos from Anime North 2012 is an episode of Not My Forte. On our way out on Sunday, we poked our heads into the DDR room and had Litrid give it a go. Step over here to watch it.

Thirdly, our good friend TheReccher finally steps out of his basement to make some gameplay videos. Today's episode is the Dragon Maleficent fight from Kingdom Hearts I, who he takes on with the Kingdom Key. What is this, Eric Gone Wild? :P Unlock that video here.

And finally, the first episode of a NEW SHOW - Try for $3.50. In this series we play arcade games, and with only 14 quarters between everyone we try and get as far as we can. Our first episode is the original Metal Slug, where I am joined by my cousin Tyler, better known as Vladimir Stalintrotsky from Vlad's Troubles, as we push through the Not-Nazi military force. It's DONE. THEY'RE ALL UP. Holy CRAP, XD. It's been one crazy month for Raven and I here at IXI. We had to get all of our ConBravo videos edited and uploaded before Fan Expo, and we very nearly did, XD. Then we had Fan Expo to plow through, which means another round of videos! Anyways, now it's all up for you to enjoy. As anyone paying attention will know, ConBravo 2012 was the first convention that officially contracted IXI! Studios as convention videographers, and boy, did we pull out all the stops. Counting the Vlad's Troubles episode, we have 34, count 'em, THIRTY-FOUR videos, and NONE of them are multi-parters, thanks to YouTube recently allowing files over 2GB to be uploaded! Our video of the D20 Live video literally took 23 hours to upload!! Go check them out!

For those who don't know us well, about half of IXI! Studios are Kamen Rider fans. For the uninitiated, think Power Rangers with better writers. Anyways, the newest Rider game came out in Japan recently, also being the first co-op-able Rider game, so of course Litrid and I hooked that shit up for some co-op action. Check it out here!

We got interviews with The Nostalgia Critic, The Nostalgia Chick, The Spoony Experiment, Todd in the Shadows, and Linkara. We did also snag some video of the Angry Video Game Nerd, the 404s, Mike 'Birdman' Dodd, and many others. Hello, and welcome once again to my usual segment, my first impressions of the Summer 2012 Anime Season.  We seem to have a lot of action and romance this season it seems, must have something to do with the heat.  So far none of the controversy from the beginning of last season either, no groundbreaking original/strange concepts, just a lot of safe productions that may prove to be at least entertaining.  Nothing much else to say here, so let’s get right into it.

THE ANIME-NIAC is Raven's brainchild, his own desk-bound, cap-wearing critique show. The first episode is perfect for him - he lays out the formula to the classic Go Nagai Super Robot anime and illustrates each point well. Any fans of Nagai should check it out. :D

Studios brand merchandise, would anyone be interested in purchasing as long as we keep prices reasonable? If so, what would you like to see? At the very least we'd be doing t-shirts. Some with our fancy logo, and some with some of our catchphrases. Anyone REALLY paying attention knows we've made mention of IXI! merch at several points, but we need the push from whatever fans we have out there to motivate us to get it done! Alright, so here's what's up - This coming weekend in Toronto is Wizard World Toronto Comicon, but our attention is focused elsewhere. As mentioned on Area of Effect, we will be attending the first Canadian Pokemon video game championships (Check out the Facebook event!). Look for me in the Team Aqua bandana, with the blue Digivice. Yup.

That night, I'm going to be at the Wizard World afterparty (Facebook event bitches) filming a friend of mine who is performing. :D

Set to appear on the next Area of Effect podcast is the fabulous Brentalfloss who is looking to promote his new album which I have just preordered (Buy it nao). Sit tight for that to go up next week.

The following weekend, that same friend I mentioned earlier is mounting a Street Fighter II tournament out of the Amsterdam Brewery (holy shit another Facebook event) here in Toronto as a fundraiser for a live pyro show called Super Street Fire (Facebook page yo), a live event that involves having real fire come out as two people "fight" each other in a real life game of Street Fighter.
